ForRestaurants.in ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by ARTEFAC INC., a corporation based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use our website and any associated mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address or mobile number, restaurant name, and password.
Content you upload:
- Food and menu photos – photos of your dishes or menu items used to generate reels.
- Selfie (optional) – a photo of yourself or your chef, only if you choose to include one.
Payment information: Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your UPI ID, card number, net banking credentials, or full payment details on our servers. We receive only a transaction confirmation.
WhatsApp sharing: When you use the "Share to WhatsApp" feature, you are redirected to WhatsApp on your device. We do not have access to your WhatsApp account, contacts, or messages.
Usage data: We automatically collect information such as your IP address, device type, operating system, and how you interact with the Service. This helps us improve the platform.
Device permissions: Our application may request access to your device camera and photo library solely to allow you to upload photos for reel creation. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and render your AI-generated restaurant reels.
- To generate Hinglish captions included with your rendered reel.
- To manage your account and process payments.
- To send you transactional messages (receipts, reel-ready notifications, password resets) via email or SMS/WhatsApp where permitted.
- To send you product updates and promotional messages — you can opt out at any time.
- To improve, debug, and maintain the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations under Indian and Canadian law.
We do not use your photos or videos to train AI models without your explicit written consent.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, video rendering, payment processing, email/SMS delivery). They are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: If required by Indian law, court order, or a government authority (including orders under the IT Act, 2000 or the DPDPA, 2023).
- Business transfer: If ARTEFAC INC. is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before that happens.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance.
Rendered reels are stored on our servers for 90 days from creation and then automatically deleted. Download your reels before then.
5. Indian Privacy Law — DPDPA 2023
ForRestaurants.in processes personal data of users in India and complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. As a Data Fiduciary under the DPDPA, we:
- Collect only the personal data necessary for the stated purpose.
- Process your data only with your consent or on another lawful basis under the DPDPA.
- Implement reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data.
- Notify you in the event of a personal data breach that may affect your rights.
- Delete your personal data when it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected.
Your rights under DPDPA:
- Right to access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed.
- Right to correction and erasure: Request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of your personal data.
- Right to grievance redressal: Raise a grievance with our Data Protection Officer. We respond within 30 days.
- Right to nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers
ARTEFAC INC. is based in Canada and our servers may be located outside India. By using the Service, you consent to your personal data being transferred to and processed in Canada and other countries where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards comparable to Indian law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at info@forrestaurants.ca and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your personal data. In the event of a data breach that is likely to cause harm to you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Third-Party Platforms
The Service integrates with or links to third-party platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, Zomato, Swiggy, and others. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those platforms. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any personal information with them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email or SMS at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
